I'm so sorry to be a pain - I have posted twice about my low Folic Acid which continues or be a concern ... \ust after some advice....
I took ill a couple of weeks ago - I felt like I was having an out of body experience and my whole face and mouth started to tingle like pins an needles along with my left arm and hand ..
My husband took me to A&E and they suspected a mini stroke - it wasn't, but they though the symptoms married with Low Folic Acid
This episode has happened twice now last Tuesday and yesterday where I just went ( according to my friend) very vacant - and this time my heart was racing and again severe pins and needles/tingling in mouth, face, tongue and arms and hands - I also have this awful taste in my mouth and food tastes strange - It lasted about 10 mins
My husband bought a home iron/Ferratin test which showed abnormal for low iron - I was exhausted and ended up in bed ..
Is low iron the same as low \folic Acid - my Dr said he doesn't know what it is?
woke up this morning and feel like I've done a full work out - muscles and body feels tired ..
I just don't know where or turn - sorry

Iron and Folate are different things but both can cause different types of anemia. B12 deficiency, by way of slowing or arresting the normal metabolism of folate, can also cause the same anemia as a folate deficiency. Please get a full iron panel, folate and the normal set of blood tests to help narrow down what might be going on (it could well be several things at once).
You don't mention in your profile whether you've been diagnosed with pernicious anemia or B12 deficient. If not you should have your B12 levels checked, homocysteine and MMA.
Before I was diagnosed with PA I had these exact same symptoms. then several days later the entire right side of my body went completely numb from the top of my head the right side of my torso down to my right foot. It was scary indeed. I saw a neurologist and they found nothing so I was labeled with a TIA. But that led to my diagnosis of PA. It took some time a few months after I started B12 treatment but it eventually resolved. Although I do have some residual, I think permanent, nerve damage in part of my right hand and right foot.
So not to treat lightly let them know you suspect B12 def. Even if you do not have PA if you've been on a PPI for any length of time ...say three years or more it known to cause B12 malabsorption.
