has anyone any advice on how serious dermal fibrosis is at all as there seems to be very little information available.

I had a little google scan (because never heard of condition) and found different nhs sites. Seems that no real issue. Some people have some surgery for cosmetic reasons but most are advised to leave well alone because often scaring following surgery is worse than actual condition.
