there is some excellent help on this site and the Ovacome nurses support will be excellent for you with this question if you ring them.Im sorry my own experience of this doesnt extend to being able to answer your question but i acknowledge you need some advice/help, as i most certainly would with this question. But a really good site also you might like to try is ( google/ tap into your search engine) :Team Inspire Ovarian . Its an American ovarian cancer forum with women on of all stages and experience BUT the advantage of this site is as America has more population, there are many more ladies with Ovarian Cancer and a wealth of experiences to tap into. There are bound to be many instances on the Forum there who will reply to your question with their experiences .Ive found it a very helpful site indeed and it has given me much information about my rare type of OC which is Clear cell.
It shows us just how strong we are to go thru this Illness. You will hear some amazing stories on this site of survival, and the woman who fight every step of the way even with a smile on there faces and a laugh. You've come to the right place for support and hugs.

All very frightening I know. But OC in my experience has been very chemo sensitive. Of course having treatment is not particularly nice but it isn't as bad as you think it is going to be. Please don't be scared by the high CA125 figures I have posted some pretty spectacular figures in the past. Have a look at Lance Armstrong's biog on figures - he can beat us both. I am 3 and a half years down the line, having treatment yes but the important thing is that I feel well, happy and am here for my children.

i was diagnosed with stage 4 grade 2c cells, cells were found in my liver so my onc gave me 6 sessions of carboplatin and taxol but would not operate because i was told the op could reactivate the liver cells which are dormant at the moment. I have been to see onc. after 7 weeks scan showed the disease had responded well to the treatment, but have been told by my onc. that it will return he is a pessimist i could do with some reassurance as i am so scared. has anyone else experienced this ? xxx
