Many of you provided names of companies for me recently thank you. I’ve contacted a few and am overwhelmed by the cost..£500 cheapest rising to over £1600. I cannot afford this! Any gems of advice please 🙏 it’s for a European single trip

Oh wow that’s mind blowing
I’ve just done mine for holiday to Crete later on in the year. Put everything down about my OC and neuropathy and I’ve paid £38 with the Post Office that includes my husband who also has diabetes!
I just put my info into Money Supermarket the same as I did twice last year.
You could try that you’ve got nothing to lose 🤷🏻♀️good luck xx Jen
I got a week in Greece for £66 with Insurancewith, and that was adding my husband (no conditions though) too x
I got a quote from Insurancewith for £72 for 10 days in Europe. If you are still having chemo that might be why it’s so expensive but if you don’t get any affordable quotes then what about leaving out the OC? Although I would worry that if something unrelated were to happen they’d try and link it to the OC 🤔
It is frustrating I found the same when I applied this year for ten days in turkey I am stage 4 but I have had cancer 10 years ned since recurrence in 2019 had a stroke last year in April and found I had type 2 diabetes I was quoted from 1800 to 150 the first quote was triple the cost of the holiday I eventually went with 150 with Insurance with . Hope you find something suitable soon .
I have used Insurance with 3 times. 1st trip was almost 2 years ago 6 days in France for about £80 between chemo cycles. 2nd trip just over 1 year ago 7 days in Sicily for £129 (after low platelets). February this year 14 days in South Africa whilst on Niraparib was £239. I was staged 3c October 2021. Good Luck
Post Office Travel Insurance for 5 days to Budapest was £650! Saga and Insurewith £300!
Just got answers now. Phew! Emma
Hope you get something soon, I’ve had similar problems. My cheapest quote was with the Post Office through a comparison website, but this shot up when I completed the PO online application.
I’d definitely caution against excluding the OC unless you declare it and the insurance company agrees to offer cover which excludes anything attributable to the OC. If you don’t declare or have a deal, you’re basically invalidating your policy, so anything you have paid is just a waste of money.I know some women who just book reasonably priced flights and accommodation with a decent free cancellation policy as the EHIC/ GHIC card covers you for healthcare in most EU countries. Xx
have you watched the Ovacome YouTube video on travel insurance to get expert tips?
Dear Tallulah55
Thank you for your post about travel insurance. There is information on travel insurance on our website here: ovacome.org.uk/travelling-a... You can download the booklet or we can send you a paper copy if you prefer. There is a list of companies at the end which or members have found helpful.
Many of the replies here have mentioned InsuranceWith, and Fiona Macrae who founded the company provided a webinar for us on this topic, which you can watch here: youtube.com/watch?v=vmP4FR1...
I hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
Anna
I declined their price! Emma x
