Hi all, recently diagnosed with a right ovarian cyst and awaiting CA-125 results. The cyst has thick walls and thick septations.....my gp is very concerned.
Has anyone had the same and what's the outcome please?

Hi Melgav
I’m sure that this is a very stressful time for you. Obviously as this is the ovarian cancer forum, most people on here have ovarian or similar cancer. However, during my time on the forum several have had concerns about ‘suspicious’ cysts that have been found to be benign on further investigation.
CA-125 is not diagnostic. Your GP should send you for other tests, such as a CT scan.
Hi Melgav
I am sorry to hear of the worry you are going through with these investigations. I completely agree with fluffyjumper that as most people on this site have or have had ovarian cancer you may not hear from those who have had a cyst which has turned out to be benign. However there will be many people out there whose cysts did appear suspicious but turned out to be benign.
I thought I would just add my experience. My cyst was suspicious and it did turn out to be an early stage cancer and following treatment I am well with no further problems and that was 27 years ago.
Wishing you all the very best
