Hello Madmolly

I'm sorry you've not had any replies to this post. It might be helpful to edit the post to include the drug name - was it possibly letrozole or tamoxifen? You can click the arrow under the post next to 'More' which will give you further options including 'Edit'.

Also as you are asking mizpurple a question, if you put @ in front of her name it will offer to link it with the name. You click the name that comes up and then the linked member should get an alert to say she has been mentioned in the post. I've done it in this reply (the @ symbol doesn't show) with TheOvacomeTeam

Please let us know if you would like any information on hormonal therapies and we will be very happy to send you links to reliable sources. You can also email us support@ovacome.org.uk or call 0800 008 7054 Monday-Friday 10am-5pm to talk anything through.

Best wishes

Anna

Sorry Molly, I only just now saw your question. I actually have a PET scan coming up next week, so hopefully will have a positive update. But so far I have had no new growth. I still have the remnants of two small tumors which my oncologist thinks are calcified from my earlier treatment with Keytruda. The letrozole she prescribed for maintenance is intended to starve any stray tumor cells and keep them from getting a foothold. So far so good. Hope this is useful info. All the best to you! Thanks Debs I see you had oc stage 1 and mine is stage 4 The say they cannot operate as to near major veins do suffer great pain from osteoarthritis and told I will have joint pain after radiation. Can I not have the pills that stop nodules growing instead of radiation. The have said five weeks of radiation every day

Actually, I ended up at stage 4 when those two tumors appeared (recurrence after first line treatment) - they are inoperable. Then I did a second line of Doxil with no effect, then the Keytruda, which shrank and calcified the tumors. And now the letrozole. So I'm doing well but not NED. The hope is that the letrozole keeps things quiet in there!

I have been offered oestrogen tablets to do the same thing as letrozole is doing for you. For all I know the oestrogen tablets might be called letrozole. I’m quite worried I make the wrong decision radiation or pill. I think my quality of life will be better with the pill but is it worth it I don’t know how long I will have. Thanks for listening to me
