Decided to book a one week cruise today and investigated insurance. After getting a quote from saga for £750 for two people, I read previous posts on here and tried recommended world first. for the same thing the quote was £116. It certainly does pay to shop around. xx

Hi Lyn , If you do it again try Insurance With , I have used them for two cruises and they were reasonable each time .xxJulia

Thanks Julia I will give it a go also, haven't bought any insurance yet, just amazed at the differences between companies.

Phew!

What a relief!

I shopped around last summer after finishing first line, but maybe because I was going to the states, I could not find coverage and ended up going without!

Best wishes,

Laura

Insurance with are superb, I’ve used them twice since diagnosis, the first time I was only 6 months on from chemo and they were professional, asked pertinent questions and good value. Good luck ❤️Xx Jane

I used Insurance with too. Comprehensive questions but a reasonable quote at the end. Some wouldn’t even quote after putting me through all the questions! Including Tesco. Have a lovely cruise. X

The same happened with me.I was given a ridiculous quote from many but the best were World First and Insure With xx

Hope you enjoy the cruise Lyn. Did you try your bank? I got mine from Nationwide, world wide for a year for both me and my husband including all my illnesses for £86. Might be worth a try.

Best wishes, Zena xx

Hi Zena , that’s interesting , I am with Nationwide and when I was diagnosed I phoned to ask how much it would cost to cover my OC , as soon as I mentioned OC they declined and now I get a letter every year to remind me it isn’t covered .Did you get this recently ?.Thanks Julia xx

Hi Julia,

No, I got this in 2014 whilst I was still on chemo and have had it ever since. Can't understand why you should be different. Try them again and see what they say. Hope if turns out okay. Zena xx

I have decided to go with world first as tired of getting to the end of the online questionnaires (some are 50 plus questions) only to be told no or can you ring us so we can ask more questions, I mean lets face it if you were that ill why would you be booking a b***dy cruise!

I went with Insurance With and a 2-week cruise for 2 was around £200.00 despite me being on a clinical trial. Your quote looks good as well.

World first were great for me - much more helpful and thorough than insurewith when I rang them up . Reasonable quote and very thorough - felt they asked everything in a thorough way ( I have many health issues ) . This is reassuring as if ever you need to make a claim with travel insurance if you havent told them anything relevant then they can declne to pay up ( saw this many times sadly when I worked as a GP - total nightmare for people)
