Hi folks I am on my third week of tablets. As the hospital only has 4 people on it they are unable to assess our reactions to it yet. Can anyone tell me how they are getting on with them. Many thanks Angie

Niraparib
Hi Angie I too am on Niraparib. Was first out at our hospital. Now 12 of us.Been on them 11 weeks now.First week on 300 mg was pretty awful, but now settled on 200 mg plus a Haloperidol too.It helps with the sickness and insomnia.
I ve been pretty good,no big side effects other than the odd wave of nausea. Some of the others have had some spectacular side effects which I didn t want to know of. Bloods all good this time as was blood pressure and kidney function. Markers on 16 at the moment.Fingers crossed for you.How have you been?

Hi Sharon thanks for your reply. I havent had any serious side effects just a bit of nausea! I had a blood test yesterday and the outcome was that my platelets are low so they have told me to stop taking them until i see my Consultant next Tuesday. Hopefully it will get sorted. I am glad to hear you are coping. Take care

This sounds absolutely standard. I'm off it now, but in so far as I had whispers of side effects, it was in the first couple of weeks.
I had to come off because of low platelets, but went back on on 200 after 2 weeks off and was pretty much okay. Indeed felt very well on it. For more info look in my posts or profile. I understand the company is now being more flexible about initial dosage and perhaps its a pity their advice came out after you started by the look of it.
Hello,
I was the first at my local hospital. I started on the 200 dose but couldn’t manage that. After nine weeks platelets were so low that I had to stop. The worst side effect for me was breathlessness. Constipation was a nuisance but controllable. I don’t yet know if they will consider 100 dose.
Good luck with your treatment.
