I was diagnosed with this in 2016 - stage 3a but grade 1 and also a synchrous endometrial cancer stage 1 grade 1 - from size of ovarian mass clearly there some time and best assumption is it was an endometrioma that had evolved into a malignancy - there isn’t a lot of easily understood stuff out there on this though I gather it has a better prognosis than high grade serous and other subtypes even at higher stages - that said higher grade endometriods behave more like high grade serous than the grade 1 - sadly even with a grade 1 I’m being investigated for recurrence - I’ve quickly learnt that cancer follows its own script - so it’s a mixed bag as many newer treatments are targeted at the high grade more common cancers and only 10% of endometrioid tumours are brca related so I’m not sure that PARP inhibitors an option under NICE - anyway welcome x

You are not alone, dear one, and as the day goes by I'm guessing you'll have several others responding with a similar diagnosis. I have both Ovarian Cancer and Endometrial Adenocarcinoma. (Lucky me!) The endometrial was diagnosed first and when I had my surgery they discovered the ovarian. Not only did I have both cancers, but the endometrial had spread to the ovary and the ovarian has spread into the uterus and other areas (lymph nodes, etc.). The diagnostic team had a robust debate as to how to classify me, but the determination was that regardless of the type, I was Stage 3.

Treatment for both cancers is the same - surgery and then chemo (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel). It's not what one would wish on anyone, but the treatment is tolerable and chemo is manageable. You'll have an entire team of qualified people to help you through this and of course, all of us on this site. If you need additional support, please talk to your oncologist as he/she can provide additional info and support - not just for your body, but also for your mind/soul.

Keep us up to date on your treatments and how you are doing. We are stronger together than we are on our own and you need never be alone.

Best wishes.

Yes it was found only in one ovary while they were trying to remove cyst but it looked suspicious and they removed whole ovary. Pathology showed endometriod cancer grade 1. done another staging surgery. all other samples came clear so i was staged 1c. This type of cancer is known to be less agresive and there is a big posibility it will not come back or at least not as fast. So there is hoping...

My daughter was diagnosed with this grade 2 ,full hysterectomy and anything else not needed (appendix) 6 rounds of chemo ,followed by 25 sessions of radiotherapy which they advised for further clean up,.doable but draining ,now 1 year since treatment ended ,only downside being muscle and back and leg pain from radiotherapy ,still it's a lot of fierce treatment not to have any side .take care
