Ever from my little dog Bella passed away lately just over 4months ago..she was knocked kmdown please dot ask for details of how it happened i really cant talk about it yet without crying. She was nearly 10 years old Pom/Chihuaha my wee best friend i loved her enormously.

My husband got me a lovely lil Chihuahua puppy now shes beautiful and we hae bonded closely but...beacause Bella's was an accident it has made me into this over protective being watching her every nove i panic if i cant see her its just taken me over and its awful ive never been like this before and its gettig to me especially having bipolar but its well managed through medication.

Does anyone know how i an become more relaxed as i was with Bella or will this come in time you think as Nina puppy gets older or need i be doing something about it before then?

Thank you all.

Hi Lilmo- this is a forum for ladies with ovarian cancer and their support people. If you search healthunlocked you will probably find a better forum for people to answer you.

So sorry to read about Bella, Lilmo. I'm sure you'll gradually feel more relaxed with Nina, and at least you know WHY youfeel as you do. Meantime, could you maybe ask your Doctor about having a bit of counselling with someone to help you through this tense time? 🤔

Hoping you can soon be happy out and about with Nina. Love Solange 😊Xx

While, this is a forum for ladies with ovarian cancer my heart goes out to you, I can understand your devastation and your anxiety about your new puppy I think it's only natural that you are reacting like this, I think possibly this experience has heightened your anxiety level in other aspects of your life, I'm not sure what to advise you to do,apart from having a chat with your doctor, I think that losing a dog is not something we ever get over but I hope in time it gets easier for you, wishing you all the best with your new pup and hope that she manages to feel a little piece of the hole in your heart, sending a big hug your way xx

This might be a start Lilmo - no direct experience but I think the only harm will be to your pocket. Anxiety is truly awful - I couldn’t leave the house at one point. See if you can find out if there are any complimentary therapies offered via your cancer nurse specialist. It’s bad enough for us to suffer but then to worry of the impact on your little pup makes it worse - you’ve taken the first step. I wish you lots of luck.
