Appetite

I was wondering if it takes a long time for appetite to come back?

Mine came back after chemo. Finished it 3 months ago and I've put on 3/4 of a stone🤐🤐

Hi Frozen38, everyone is different. I finished chemo about 9weeks ago & my appetite is poor. I can go all day without feeling hungry it's a struggle. If my appetite carries on like this I will need some help. I hope your appetite comes back soon but I think it's quite normal for this to happen. Take care Cindyxx

I finished chemo 3 months ago and my appetite is very poor as well. I lost a great deal of weight and while at this point I am maintaining my weight I have not gained anything back. I am concerned about it. I thought that once chemo was over my appetite would return but it has not.

Hi after surgery and during chemo I lost too much weight and had no appetite. My Onc prescribed Fortisip drinks plus I saw a dietitian at the hospital. These all helped, I finished chemo in June and my appetite is back to normal plus I'm back to my original weight before all this. It does take time, try to eat little and often. I was told to eat anything fattening and not to worry.. so I did and ate far too much chocolate and desserts... try it! I wish you all the best. Love Michelle xx

Hi as someone said above we all are different... when i woke up from my op i was starving and ate like i never eaten for a year!

I noticed while undergoing every 21 day treatments, my appetite would start to come back the third week. It was the same after the last chemo and continued to get stronger and better. I lost 67 lbs during chemo and have gained 24 back! and gained a sweet tooth also. Something I never had all my life!
