Hi guys,

Had the letter confirming mum's positive results (resolution of plurel effusion, marked improvement of acseties and the thickining of omental) but also said there was mesenteric nodles. Anyone have any experience or knowledge of these nodels?

Thanks

Not heard of that myself however found this on Google

Mesentery: In general, a fold of tissue that attaches organs to the body wall. The word mesentery usually refers to the small bowel mesentery, which anchors the small intestines to the back of the abdominal wall. Blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatics branch through the mesentery to supply the intestine.

Probably best to for your mum to ring her Clinical nurse to ask exactly what that refers to. It's too easy to read into things when it's not clear what is meant and they can clear up any questions quite quickly. From what you've shared the letter doesn't seems to say that the nodules are in any way suspicious just that nodules were seen, so a telephone call tomorrow is probably a good idea.

Take care

Clare

Like Clare says if you ring and ask I'm sure your mums team will be happy to discuss what it means. Xx

Claire and Millie are right. Make that call for peace of mind, I think that the medical profession sometimes forgets that we patients are not all medically trained and they need to explain in simple terms we can understand, especially as we are not necessarily in a good place and are vulnerable already. The internet can scare the pants off us so ask for an explanation on what the diagnosis means. Good luck for a positive outcome ❤️Xx

Thanks all. We are pretty sure we know what it means, mainly positive. Most of the team aren't about, they are struggling to find mum an appointment let alone someone to talk to. Ha.

I had some enlarged nodules but when they were removed it wasn't cancer just a bad infection ... hope your mum is feeling ok still 🤗
