I cried for a whole night quite literally the horror I felt was unreal especially when I looked into the eyes of my 2 babies 3 and 4 at the time it was heart breaking. I was one of the lucky ones if you call it that as I was caught at stage 1 so thank god I had the operation did the chemo and can move on with my life. I went to the look good feel beautiful course in beaumont just after I started chemo gave me tips on how to look well even though I felt awful that helped alot. I had to put the best foot forward for my kids because I needed to keep their life as normal as possible that was important to me. I got my hair piece made the most of it and went out with it on mainly because i did not want to look different to the kids. My son bless him got very upset if he glimpsed my bald head. I had lots of family and friends to support me who were wonderful. My husband a good man but was not great at coping with it as I am usually the strong one. WE went through a tough time together but still together and love eachother but still feel a bit let down about that time. I did couple counselling went to arc and did reflexology. On my worst weeks I plastered on a face put on a bright top and went out with my husband for coffee and some fresh hair. I became addicted to the internet (not a good idea!!) and got obcessed with ordering books about cancer on amazon (again not a good idea idea). What you need to focus on is what the consultant tells you about your diagnosis they are the best ones to advice the internet will drive you crazy. I was a very difficult time but I got through it and loving life more then ever and you will too just look at it as a job you have to do focus on the end of treatment and recovery. Positive thinking all the way you will beat it.
