Yes, absolutely in my case. My lower oesophageal sphincter is weak so allows acid reflux to rise but stress also plays a big part in my gastric issues.

Hi, Most definitely since retiring all my stomach issues have settled down.

Absolutely! I had major digestive issues, acid reflux/heartburn, etc. caused by stress and anxiety. I got on an antidepressant, and I practically have zero symptoms!

No problem. I had to get my stress/anxiety worked out; that's why my body was telling me!

I’ve had acid since becoming very anxious over family member being unwell … think it’s linked dr has prescribed low dose anti depressant but m scared to take it incase upsets my stomach (side effect ) of the tablet 😞 but after reading your post I’m really considering starting it to see if calms the acid as I’m sure it’s linked to it anxiety

There are side effects, but everyone is different. I waited a couple of months to start sertraline because I was scared like you, and I wish I had started sooner. If you experience any side effects, push through, because it is so worth it! Good luck!

I got lightheaded, insomnia, occasional diarrhea, a slight increase in anxiety, and occasional headaches for about 2-3 weeks. After 2 weeks, though, all of my stomach issues were practically gone, and I had an appetite again. After 4 weeks, my anxiety was basically gone.

I started on 25mg and upped to 37.5 after 6 weeks. I've been on 37.5 for several months now. I take it around dinner time with food. I fall asleep relatively quickly now and maybe only wake up once or twice, which is way better than insomnia!

yes absolutely. Often you can be stressed anxious and not maybe realise or don’t connect it with the acid.

I definitely didn’t think stress could cause it but really starting to know with what I’m going through it has

Definitely! Feel both my GERD and IBS are influenced by stress.
