It’s a feeling of having a constant lump in your throat. It lasts for a while and then goes away only to return. It doesn’t affect swallowing and obviously there isn’t actually a lump in your throat it’s just a feeling you get. It’s extremely annoying.

Unfortunately it comes and goes especially at night but I will just soldier on.

Hello! I’m no expert but I’ve recently been diagnosed with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (also known as LPR or silent reflux) & I have mucus in the back of my throat too. Also anything I’ve read about LPR mentions one of the symptoms being a feeling of a lump in the throat. I’ve been prescribed a PPI drug called Omeprazole & told to take 5-10ml of Gaviscon Advance after my evening meal. I’ve also reduced the amount of acidic food in my diet & don’t eat late at night - this has all helped. Loads of advice on the internet - here’s a link to one of the NHS leaflets

I too believe to be suffering from this awful sensation! It’s driving me totally crazy and making me really worried, I’ve had two endoscopies in the last year and both have been clear.

Mine doesn’t specifically effect my swallowing but I certainly feel it more after eating / swallowing a pill. Is yours the same ?
