Return to school tiredness

I was just wondering how everyone’s return to school has been. Ours has been full on and quite tiring. It’s like the change in the clocks came at just the wrong time. I’m always looking for post school healthy snacks or energy boosting ideas as I think we are running out of energy just at the wrong time for the school run. Especially when they haven’t eaten all their lunch. I will be grateful for all ideas - Thank you 😊

Ours hasn't been the best 😴 my too little ones started a new school on Thursday and it doesn't help they have been full of cold as well.

I really struggle with finding health snacks as well as all they want is crisp, chocolate and sweets when they get home. They are always hungry!

Toast with peanut butter or chocolate spread seems to work well 🙂

Hey, sorry yours has been up and down too. Yes the weather has really added and I think everyone is just picking up viruses too now so it’s keeping going with runny noses. Toast sounds a good call thank you. It needs to be appealing enough that it can compete with crisps and I think chocolate spread will do it! Good luck for next week xx

Ahh I think it's just a part of what Autumn brings 😔

My kids would love in crisps and chocolate if they could, haha!

Thank you and good luck with the toast xx

Hi thanks for your reply. Erm so I’m not winning on the toast front - more from my own organisation and then daily life taking over 😆.

I too could live on crisps and chocolate to be fair! Xx

Ahh noooo! Don't worry it's so hard for us to do everything isn't it? I struggle to juggle everything. I am the worst for reaching out for crisps for ease. My son has decided he doesn't want school dinner anymore as portions are too small so now I need to think of pack lunch ideas 🙄 xx

Hi, lol I know right? Crisps and chocolate are the best!

I can totally relate to trying to think up packed lunch ideas. We just went through a school dinner issue and have had to do packed lunches ( I think we may be back on school dinners now but I’m not sure yet we will see ). I found I had to sneak in the healthy food alongside crisps. Good luck with the packed lunches 😊

I hope he changes his mind as their dinners sound really delicious! I used to love school dinners.

I am going to have to try and use my imagination 😊
