Eating well on a budget

Bulk buying to make cheaper in the long run. Using loads of different types of vegetables chopped up small to bulk up mince with spices and chopped tomatoes to make loads of portions of bolognese which can then all be frozen. These can then be taken out to make spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, cottage pie, pasta bake etc. We also do batch cooking for the freezer to make different vegetable curries and bean chillies. I also love my soup maker where I just add loosely chopped fresh veg or frozen veg, stock cube and spices, lentils/ spilt peas/ butter beans/ chick peas and water. Put on and leave for 20 mins and it boil and make smooth or lumpy depending on what you fancy. Perfect for when I’m distracted by the kids so can’t watch things on the stove. The kids love (what they affectionately call) ‘Green witches soup’ which contains every green thing in the fridge and freezer.
