Well the last 2 months have given me ups and downs.

Started with catching a cold which put me off eating (not good for us) I have lostseveral kgs but slowly its coming back to post op weight of 70kgs.

Got over that then ended up in A&E on a Sat night with tightness across chest and lower adbomin pains. Blood tests, ECG, x-rays, morphine.......then admitted at midnight for obs. The following morning pain gone, told i needed an ultrasound scan as it could be pancreatitas (not sure if that correct spelling) or gall stones, we will do that on Monday or we can discharge you and send an appointmenty through. Not wanting to spend the next 24-36 hours stuck in hospital opted for later apppointment. That came through and by chance the day after I was due to see the surgeon for a check up.....result is there is debris in the gall bladder. Slightly reluctant to operate if gall bladder due to what I`ve been through this year. So he suggested an MRI to get a better picture (no pum intended). Now waiting for the results to come through.

I`m hoping this wont effect, my wifes plan for us to go away in late Sept for a 7 day cruise. SHE deserves a break, with putting up with me over the last 7 months and 33 years of marriage...also it will be our 1st holiday in that time without the kids.......

Just to let you know its not getting me down, but wanted to update you on progress!!!! still taking 1 day at a time, there are people worse off than me......

Hi Mick,

I have to congratulate you on your positive attitude when you are still going through all this stuff. I hope it is all resolved quickly for you and you get away on your cruise. I agree, our partners have been through it all just as much as we have. My husband has been great and is continuing to be so.

So, lets all say thank you to our carers too.

Good luck

Hi Mick,

I had the major op in march 2007 and then suffered pains in september 2008. This resulted in me having my Gall bladder removed in October 2008. Have been fine since. Had the gall bladder op as a day and had a sore belly for a few weeks but it soon disappeared. I have a great carer in my husband, partners need a break to and we had a great holiday in Maderia, had another good holiday in January this year - Safari in Kenya.

Enjoy,

Lilia

Just had the clinical nurse contact me with the results of the MRI. Everything seems ok, so no problem with the gall bladder. After a long conversation about various things she thinks the problem may be associated with `dumping`.

So now its be a little more careful about how and what I eat, we live and learn.

Holiday tickets collected, car parking booked, only 2 weeks before we go away for a well earned holiday and quality time together. (still taking each day, day at a time).

Regards to all, life is what you make of it.
