Any body having problems with Pantoprazole?

15 weeks post ivor lewis. Had to have an endoscopy last Friday because I have the feeling something always stuck at the back of my throat.

Nothing found but the surgeon did proscribe me pantoprazole twice a day for a month 40mg per tablet. During the past week I feel like I have been hit by a bus! Even the smallest thing I do around the house, causes me to have heart palpation, extremely weak, no energy, completely lost what little appetite I had, as of today lost 18kgs.

I don't understand why I have to take thos PPI as I not suffered any Reflux problems for a couple of months . I now sleep on a bed that adjusts the sleeping position which I reakons helps.

Please visit opa.org and read about post ivor Lewis care in the downloads section as well the website. Depending upon your location you may ask the office for printed leaflets if that helps you.

You are early stage fro the surgery and what you explained is normal. Weight loss explains your written symptoms.

Body will take long time to adjust to the surgical changes and heal itself.

New normal is the keyword.

The anastomosis (stitching of the oesophagus and stomach) will give the musle feedback of something stuck as well.

Offcourse when stomach contents travels or tried to travel back up due to unreat4icted movement the feeling of something stuck will also be there.

Please under the new normal and how to cope with it using the forum posts in the past as well the website for the OPA
