hi

my gp is stopping my ranitidine , I taake them every nigt to stop bile ,after my ivor lewis operation , any alternatives ? thanks guys

Hi that’s a shame your medication has stopped

Gaviscon Double Action Mint flavour is helpful

We also bought a wedge via this site and had a good discount

Then use at least two propped up pillows against the wedge

Basically this stops your head and neck bending down so cutting down the reflux

There are also many ideas on this problem on this great site as we are all very different

My ranitidine was stopped because it was withdrawn and now take Zanitidine. Maybe worth asking about that??

Hi,I take Lansoprazole there is also Omeprazole they belong to a group of PPI’s but basically work the same.

Hi I take lockets as the honey and lemon help so much, I know it sounds weird but it works for me plus don’t drop down on the left side and keep your chin up rather than tucked into your neck, keep trying different things one will suit good luck x

Ranitidine is a PPI and will only help with acid reflux not bile. Bile reflux is best avoided by sleeping elevated. Alternative PPI,s are Nexium, lansopersole omeprozole

Hi my Dr put me on cimetidine 300mg x2 daily.RANITIDINE WAS PULLED OFF THE MARKET

I take fastab it is for acid not bile. Sleeping wedged up is good and I used to have sugar free barley sugars next to my bed. They helped if things got bad. Sugar free was my dentists request but don’t eat too many as they can cause diorreahea Also have gaviscon as it helps xx

I had to quit using rantidine as well. I have switched to omperzole. Hope this works. I have pancreatitis as well but have only vomited 2 times. Wish you the best.
