Thank you everyone for your encouraging words about my last post, he has read them all. It is a comfort to know he is not alone and this is all ‘normal’.
Not a good day today, hypo/dump after lunch (beans and cheese on toast) and tea (cheese and meat omelette). Really strange as he has these foods regularly. When this happens he lays on the bed, sips on full sugar Coca Cola or Pepsi, which helps a bit, and usually recovers with8n an hour or two. also we have dextrose sweets, any ideas which are best? He has been very thirsty today too (?) We are both trying to keep positive and just knowing that all you lovely people are out there really helps. THANK YOU ALL xx

Hi I have found that I can't drink tea after I eat as it seems to push the food through too quickly and cause dumping. If I go out for tea and cake for example I drink the tea first then wait about 15 mins and then eat the cake and this works. I also don't drink and eat at the same time as this causes me dumping. It's all about learning what works for you but the eating and drinking at the same time is definitely a big no no for me .
I have to thank you for your original post. My husband is 8 months post op and has just started a phased return to work. He is doing well, but throughout his recovery so far has been impatient for the ‘next step’
He read all the comments yesterday and I noted he was very emotional whilst doing so. Extremely helpful to know others experiencing the very same things.
Thanks again and very good luck to you and all that replied.
