Another one here! I lost my husband to cancer after an 8 year battle nearly 3 years ago. My op was June 2010. I also would be very happy to hear from anyone in a similar situation. I am also a very new member on this site.

Hi Charlie, nice to hear from you. we have a similar background - I lost my husband to stomach cancer 8 and half years ago, I had my surgery 3 and half years ago and have just lost my brother 3 months ago to oesophageal cancer, so as you can imagine I have had quite enough!! only just picked up your response, apologies! Sounds as though you have had such a sad time too. And its all so much worse when you are trying to handle things alone isn't it? I have just returned from visiting no.3 daughter and family in London and I also have ra so I am on a real "go slow" right now! (lovely but exhausting) Just wish I could eat more and gain some weight. How about you? Where in the country are you?

Hi Charlie, I live down on the south coast, how about you?

I have two daughters, one is married with two grown up children, the other is single and works in the theatre, she is touring at the moment so I don't get to see her much. The elder married one lives relatively close but the youngsters lead such busy lives I don't see much of them either. I keep myself busy with OPA, Macmillan and Sussex Cancer Network volunteering but it doesn't make up for company does it.
