How long did people have the nasal gastric tube in place. Stuart had his operation mid November 2024. His swallowing and speech are as yet to come back fully. His surgeon is confident this is down to bruising and she had to operate so hugh up. Poor soul has been so down that it’s worried me.

hi there. I had my Ivor Lewis op 3 years ago and had the nasal tube for maybe 4 or 5 days. I was then fed with a jej tube as well as what I could swallow. My tumour was however lower down. Good luck to your husband/friend? X

Heya, I had a nasal tube to suck out bile etc... It was pulled 6 or 7 days after surgery. I was feed via jejunum, but they missed by a meter or two. The tumor was also in the lower part of the esophagus. Good luck!
