My hubby had 4 cycles flot chemo And he had his oesaphagectamy on 11th December he up and down with a lot symptoms and he had op he got 3 cracked ribs which don't help recovering from a major op. Everytime he as a meal it go right through him .if it not that he gets constipated because off pain medication. He might have go back chemo .he has half open and half robotic all due to barrets oesaphagus.

hi Jenn. Its very normal to be up and down , cracked ribs can happen as they spread the ribs to do the op. They are very uncomfortable. Maybe eating tiny little meals throughout the day, like grazing. a couple of crackers and cheese , some mash with gravy, vegetables and cheese an egg cup full or a little teaplate size portion at a time. His gut is like a todedler and needs to relearn how to digest. Also chewing it well helps it might. Calm things down a bit. Whatever he fancies, as long as it has calories in it. Good luck
