I find that eating anything with cheese especially cheese sauces and mayonnaise has this effect maybe stick to very bland meals and see how things go

Your Fathers’ issues are not uncommon within this community, in which I am a member, so I can appreciate how he feels.

Summerson is right with those comments. Go back to basics, avoiding anything with a high fat content. This advice is somewhat contrary to what the dieticians tell us we need to consume, as many of us simply can’t take that level of fat.

I tend to concentrate on carbohydrates, although it may take longer to regain weight.

Best wishes.

Hi. Too much sugar can also be a problem though everyone is different. Good luck for the future.

Hi, I would say it's probably the shakes if you're making them up with full fat milk (too fatty). Likewise fortijuice also can have that effect ( I made them into jelly and that was better). Perhaps try knocking one off for a week, then the other if that doesn't work. I just use Fresubin now, it's an emulsion type supplement and I mix it with milk and use for porridge or 30ml with mashed potato. It packs 600 cals for 120ml and comes in neutral or lemon. I use the lemon for mixing into greek yoghurt (measure out what you want and put rest back in fridge for next day). Eventually he'll find something that works for him, we're all different after all but trial and error is the key. Takes a bit of time but I'm sure you'll get there in the end 🤞.

I have eliminated dairy from my diet and no longer have the sugar spikes. Smoothies: I use Kefir milk and soups I thicken with pureed cashews.

Hi there!

At the beginning of this whole operation process, I had this problem when I was really constipated at the start.

But now I get occasional "dumping" when I have had too much sugar after eating a meal with a high sugar content dessert.

I don't eat/drink any shakes.

From the research that I did, I found that everyone has a different trigger for dumping and I realised that when I over ate dessert after a meal my stomach would gurgle till I emptied my bowels.

The whole process has been very debilitating as I don't tend to do much as you never know how your body is going to react to everything you eat. Sometimes my sugar goes low, at other times I suffer dumping etc. But I am very grateful for the second stab at life 😊.

I hope you resolve your issue.

Take care,

Cosmobabe

VERY familiar. Sweet desserts after a meal eg syrup sponge with custard(what was so thinking???!!!) are a guaranteed dump with associated blood sugar issue for me.

Porridge/Ready Brek rule!
