Hello, Doctors are able to learn a lot about the state of our health by the colour of our poo. You are right to be concerned. Normal poo is usually a healthy brown but at times it can vary in colour from time to time. However, if it continues to be pale it suggests all is not right and you should contact your doctor or consultant for further advice.

It is common for faeces to be pale in colour at your stage of post IL recovery. They are also usually lighter (they float) and have an oily sheen. This occurs when your stomach is unable to process fat. If it persists, your medical team may prescribe creon, which is a pancreatic enzyme that helps the body to digest fat.
