I had a stomach emptying test at the start of last week , but I don't have a follow up date - and unlike ultrasounds or even the barium swallow - when I was told afterwards everything was OK - I have no idea what the outcome of this is! Any ideas? I did find that eating a dry meal was not good - wasn't even given a sip of water and I have a really dry mouth 24/7. By the time the test was over and I got to my car I was retching just because I was so thirsty! I'm guessing they are checking for gastroparesis as I have lost a bit of weight and have been feeling randomly sick a fair bit. Recently my kidney function has dropped a bit too - but nothing much showing up on tests done so far, so I haven't a clue what I can do to make things better!
Would be good to know how long other people waited for their results and perhaps no news is good news?!

Assuming you have the secretary of the hospital consultant/dept where you were invited for the scan/test. And also your GP who referred you to this dept in first place.
Please call your GP for the test results as they should be the one receiving the copy of the results and outcome from the consultant/dept.
Yes without solids and liquids and then test is normal for this type of the scan.
When you speak to the GP reeptiuon if they havent got the results yet, you may ask generally how long it has been taking for them to hear from the dept.
Given the current stretched resources with virus situation, it maye take some time for you to get some results.
Thanks! The results I have been getting lately have been quick - not slow, as there are not as many people turning up for their appointments. I have a blood test in 3 weeks time - so if I have heard nothing by then I will chase up.
That very good to know at your end.I am still waiting for cardiac appointment for last 8 months and my wife's appointment has been postponed indefinitely.
Unfortunately a lot of services are on hold - and that's not good. My local hospital are doing scans and nuclear tests, but only because they are so behind. I must admit I felt safer in the nuclear science part of the hospital than anywhere else in there! I hope you both get an appointment soon. I
