Sorry I've no idea and never had an acid problem apart from moving at night and not being elevated properly.

Can I ask have you had letter/text being in the most vulnerable group and should stay in for at least 12weeks?

in reply toBob111

No I haven't have you ?

Yes text started Monday and daily since, letter Wednesday, looking at all the info and on .Gov site I cant see how fit any of the groups. Last chemo was July, did 9 weeks before and 9 after.

Had CT on 18thFeb as been a year ... the wait for result in the current climate plays on you mind.

How you doing ? Read about burping had that found much worse when couldn't used to crawl around waiting for wind to come out other end.

I had total gastrectomy January 2019 and due to reflux I’m on 80mg a day (started last week), I was told by my surgeon I’d never need it again because they took my whole stomach and there was no acid, but the bile reflux is horrible and it does help a little.

I eat Chinese curry to help prevent bile reflux. It works for me.

I was prescribed ranitidine after my op 6 years as go and slowly came off it.

I take gaviscon when needed try and sleep propped up and eat sensibly and that’s it.

You could try coming down from the dose gradually and see how it feels .

Take care

Best

Hi Molly In my 30 mg is a standard dose for many people. When my acid reflux was bad it was then doubled from this but now back to 30mg. So no need to worry.

Hi there. I haven't had an oesophagectomy so I can't comment on that. Iam currently taking the same amount of Lansoprazole daily as you are. For my Grade A reflux oesophagitis, a lax lower oesophageal sphincter. My GP advised that the 30mg twice a day whilst it sounds high it is permittable. I hope this may ease your worries a little.

Only ever taken 30mgs before and since the IL operation 6 and a half years ago. No reflux at all and can eat and drink anything now! Get medical opinion. Love Angi xx

Hi,

It’s seven and a half years since my oesophagectomy and I am still on 15mg twice a day. Although 30mg is within safe guidelines, have you tried a lower dose to see if that works. Best Wishes, James.

Hi

I'm on 1 x 30mg first thing in the morning, been on it for 18 months, not had any reflux etc........so far so good, but I guess we are all different, why not check with your Upper G I unit where you had the op ?
