Ivor Lewis best surgeon ever!

Hi there, I had and Ivor Lewis Oesophastrectomy in Sept 2017. I had a chest infection and a Dr sent me for a chest X-ray, it revealed a leiomyoma, 17cms in size, which was attached to my oesophagus and the top of my stomach. I had 15cms of my oesophagus removed along with the tumour and the sphincter at the top of my stomach, so I now have a tube for a stomach. I had a feeding tube for 6 weeks, and had overnight feeds, it was the worst time of my life. I had severe depression. 2 years on and I am well. I eat 5 small meals, when I remember as I don’t get hungry. I sleep upright. I have lost 30kgs which is a bonus as I was overweight. I take domperidone to help empty what’s left in there. My surgeon was incredible, Simon Bann! He saved my life! Goodness knows what could’ve happened if Not found! It was benign, so lucky!
