“Stretches”

Hi all!!

Tony is about to have his 7th Stretch this week , takes it all in his stride but I just wondered is there anyone that has continued to keep having this done ? I must admit that the gaps between are improving but it would be good to know that eventually the scar tissue will relax and stay stretched. He’s now 7 months post op and apart from the stricture and occasional “dumping” I’m sooo pleased to say that he is slowly putting on weight ( albeit ounces at a time) and building muscle and strength again ....something I never dreamed would ever happen !

Hi Deb. Like Tony I had around seven stretches. The time between them did increase. The nurses in the post op recovery room became friends, we met so often! I’m now 8 years post op..... life does get better, albeit not the same as before! Best wishes to Tony.

Thanks Buzzboy !

Always so grateful for encouragement..been such a gorgeous weekend but we’ve been on a bit of a downer for some reason. Stretch went well as usual but then had dumping yesterday for no reason that we can think so one thing and another we both end up irritated!... but not to worry it it’s not always like that !tough at times accepting the changes it causes physically and mentally!x
