Also YouTube has surgery videos if you keen to see for real. Good luck with your treatment. My IL oesophagectomy was done 11 weeks back.

Personaly I'd steer clear of the Youtube video - I looked at it found it too disturbing too watch.

My IL was done in January 2015. chemo after the operation.

I agree about not watching the video! Cancer Research UK shows simple diagrams which expain what the operation achieves.

Most of the people on this site either have had, or are carers of those who have had, the Ivor Lewis op. It's a tough one, but many survive well, with some changes to life-style. (My husband aged 83 is one - 6 years post-op.)
