I really don't know what to do. I have had tightness in my stomach for about 2 months now without any relief. Usually it would last for a week and did not feel anything for days and then it would return. Now it just does not go away.
Its been almost 9 months that it began with tightness in my throat.
I don't have tightness in my throat anymore. I even tried to ween myself from using Nexium.
The tightness is usually around my stomach in the center. On occasions is on the right or left near the ribs above the belly button. The tightness usually shifts sides during the day.
I am at wits ends, I have tried everything, doctors don't know what it is. I am almost always tired because the tightness makes me feel breathless as i seems it pushes on my diaphragm. Doctors say its gastritis and just left me like that.

I'm not an expert, but I know that tightness is usually connected to IBS symptoms, maybe be you should mention that to your doctor and see what he says!
thank you. I will ask him about IBS. They just dismissed as Gastritis and sent me home.
Is the rest of your digestive system working OK re your bowels etc? I am wondering whether it is some form of trapped wind / colic? Or some kind of side effect from taking / adjusting the Nexium?
Gastritis is an irritation of the stomach lining. Causes tend to be medication, stress, or Helicobactor Pylori, an infection (perhaps re lack of stomach acid?) or possibly bile reflux.
So you do need some qualified help to try and diagnose the cause as it can be very unpleasant.
You might try Gavison Advance over-the-counter for a while and see if that gives any relief?
Bowels are fine, except sometimes it feels like if Im constipated, even though I go well to the restroom.
I have been diagnosed with Gastritis by an EDG. But it usually went away after a while, its been constant tightness for two months now. The weirdest part is the tightness tends to change during the day. Sometimes in the center of my stomach, other times its on side of the ribs or both.
