Recurrence

Just found out after 2.5 years my mum has had a recurrence. It' back in the eosphagus stomach and a little bit in the lungs.

I don't know what to do. I can't picture life without my mum. The doctors didn't think cancer was back and now I don't know how long I have her for.

I'm so sorry you've had such rubbish news. Having a Dad who has just finished successful treatment for cancer I can only imagine how devastated you feel. I hope the doctor's can give your Mum some positive treatment options xxx

I am so sorry to hear your news and hope that the doctors can come up with a plan to treat her. Please don't give up hope - try not to think too far ahead if you can (a tall order I know).

Sending all good wishes and positive thoughts.

So sorry to hear that Gemindina. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. I hope the medics can come up with some alternative options for your mum. Thinking of you and sending a virtual hug 🤗.

That is bad news, but I think you will find that the doctors and nurses are very caring and understanding. Your Mum will have her own feelings about further treatment, and it might be helpful to talk things over with the staff at a Maggie's or other cancer centre as it does help you to come to terms with making the most of things for however long a period that you have got.

So sorry about your mom's news. Your job now is to keep her laughing. See to it her diet is very little meat fruits and veggies and vitamin D. Hey my mother-in-law iced her underarms and defeated breast cancer. This us the battle if your life. Lots of cancer fighting medicines are poisons like arsenic. I don't want you to think I want you to form a circle and sing Kum-by-ya. Cancer took my brother at 66. He stepped on something at the beach. By the time they gave him really strong stuff it caused him to develop lymphoma. But I know in my heart and mind that attitude is everything and diet too. Try to find out what she joked about when she was a girl.. But mainly, love her like you have been. You're a pro by now.

This is devastating for all of you and I am so sorry after all she’s been through. It hits hard when we are all either going through or caring for someone having surgery or facing the surgery for the same area. Much love and hugs xxx

Very upsetting and sad news. Never give up being positive but also be realistic. If you need help and support try the Maggie centre or your local Cancer Care.

Difficult times ahead. Sending Hugs x
