Got my endoscopy later today and feeling a bit anxious. I've had one before and have asked to be sedated this time, so hoping it will be a lot better........fingers crossed. I know I have GERD/GERD and a hiatus hernia and have been on omeprozol for years which has controlled it. However, about a month ago I started having horrendous pains in my stomach, chest etc so gp thought it was time for another look to see what's going on.
I'm more nervous about the results to be honest.

It will all be over and done with as I write, so I hope you got through it ok. My hubby has had quite a few endoscopies and says at least they are soon over. Let us know how you get on and I wish you all the luck for a good result.
Not going to lie, it was not pleasant. The doctor was lovely but persuaded me against sedation because I would have had to stay at least 2 hours afterwards. He also said the spray was more effective than when I last had it done. 4 minutes and it will be done he said!!! However, first attempt failed because he could not get the scope down.... he said I had a short neck!! Second attempt and he was down, then he took biopsy of what he described as a polyp like nodule which he wasn't worried about, just wanted to be thorough. I have a sliding hiatus hernia which I knew about. So, just got to wait for the biopsies to come back to gp.
