Hi everyone, my name is Christine and I have a paraoesephagal hernia. This means my stomach and pancreas have gone into my chest. I am not well enough to have the operation to put things back in place and stitch up my diaphragm up.
This causes me to get food stuck in my oesophegus. I can only eat very small meals and I often have food go down the wrong way, which is quite distressing trying to cough it up.
If I eat too much I then want to vomit or I have a lot of saliva in my mouth that I need to get rid of. The problem is you don't know when you've eaten too much as everything is fine until the last mouthful and then the trouble starts. It is very unpleasant especially if you are out socialising.
