I am 10 years post op and like many of us take Gaviscon at night. My question is which do most of you prefer liquid or tablet.

I would appreciate your comments.

Hi Phil I take Gaviscon Advance liquid as I find it works straight away and tablets don't seem to work as well

Morning Phil.

I didn't take Gaviscon last night but I prefer the liquid form. I take tablets when I do longhaul travel because liquid is more difficult to carry then

I tend to need Gaviscon if I eat too late at night especially if I eat crisps or biscuits.

I take Gaviscon Advance Liquid Peppermint at night just before I go to bed and maybe once more in the middle of the night if I wake up. I should take it through out the day after each meal but I don't as can't really stand the taste. :) Cam

Gavison liquid is by far the best as it works immediately. I, like other commentators tend to take it when and if. Gaviscon liquid is also available in small sachets which are very handy when on holiday.

Hi Phil. I think the answer really is what works for you

The liquid does nothing for me at all . The double action tablets for me work much better.. trial and error really..I don't take them as got prescription Omaprazole instead. Good luck

Hi. I take the liquid, two spoons last thing at night. My prescription was changed from Gaviscon to "Peptac Peppermint Liquid", which is just as good but half the price (I'm told). As others have said the Gaviscon sachets are ideal to take on holiday. If I wake in the early hours with acid reflux then I chew a Rennie which I keep within easy reach - saves waking fully!

Gaviscon liquid for me. Also stops me feeling sick.

Sachets are a God send whilst away from home

Hi Phil

Like you I take Gaviscon liquid at night and usually for the quick fix on reflux but it is only one of a number of meds in the armoury inc the tablets. If you are constantly using (ie every night) a trip back to the GP might be in order to see if they should up your dose on your PPI (eg omeprazole)

Liquid every time works faster and with tablets most of it seems to get stuck to teeth for ages.
