You should seek medical help straight away, and your dad will need to be checked out in the hospital A & E.

Something will be causing the vomiting, which can be caused by a variety of different things.

It does sound dramatic. I suffered from vomiting blood (black) a few years ago, and it was something called Mallory-Weiss tearing of the stomach lining caused by the violence of the vomiting action, which often (as in my case) cured itself after a couple of days. I only mention that as an example of a range of things that could be the cause.

In any event, it is distressing and painful and needs to be checked out properly with a proper diagnosis. The GP should give it priority but otherwise go straight to A & E. It might also be a good idea to contact the specialist nurse at the cancer centre as they may be able to ensure that you go to the right place.

What a worry for you I would contact the nurse at the cancer centre they will know more and act quicker. Good Luck hope it is the same as Alan's.
