It's sensible to be careful with supplements. Some interact with prescription meds and shouldn't be mixed with them. Others can be expensive and do no harm, but no good either.

Saffron is one I haven't heard of as a supplement. It sounds like a very expensive thing to take as a supplement and is possibly better kept as a cooking ingredient!

Some studies have suggested bone broth or pork or beef gelatine can help with OCD. There are a few articles on the internet about it. It is cheap and can be taken as a daily drink.

Another member of this forum put me onto something called inositol. I'm told it has few side effects and is good for really intransigent OCD. It comes as a powder and for OCD the dose is usually 18 g a day. It can be got over the internet. Some manufacturers combine it with choline, but you want just the pure inositol for OCD. It is best used, apparently, as a replacement rather than a supplement to prescription meds. I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like a safe alternative to meds.
