I thought "osteoporosis" is determined by a bone density scan, not x-ray.

Yes it is -but “osteo” could mean osteoporosis or osteoarthritis or both..

Have a look at the Arthritis Action website for arthritis

Hi Neon65

I had osteo-arthritis simply diagnosed by xrays of broken bits of bone off my thumb (plus, the pain of course).

dr didn't advise anything.

But I use 750mg glucosamine HCL (hydrochloride, not sulfate) +250mg shark chondroiton to reduce rheumatism pain in my hands, and completely getting rid of the neck-cracking when I roll over during sleep.

Also use public heated swimming pool for pain reduction and exercise.

I wish you the best.

Edit: Forgot to write that I take the 750mg glucosamine&250mg shark chondroiton twice a day.

Not what you're looking for?
