Good morning Bobbyz

I have not heard to much on Synvisc injections; however, just like any medication and/or invasive procedures there are always some kind of risk and/or side effects. I suggest you have a frank conversation with your physician. Get all the details from a licensed provider and make your decision from there. Good luck

Its really hard to get these specialists or their assistants to call you back about anything..

I am sorry you are having a hard time in receiving a response back from your physician; I know sometimes they are especially busy after the holidays. The specialist would be the best person to speak with to give you the pros and cons or even just to let you know if the procedure would benefit you or not. You should continue to try to contact the doctors office and possibly do some research of your own, so when you do speak with him/her you will have questions readily available. Good luck and keep us informed of what you find.

Hi Bobby, personally I would say don't bother putting yourself through the pain of the injections. I wouldn't do it again.

As I mentioned before I have not heard of Synvisc, so I am curious how it works and if it is beneficial.

It's actually hyularonic..acid to help lubricate the knee and alleviate pain. Some people say it can work for them up to 2 years delaying knee replacement surgery.Other reviews say it made things more painful .

Hi, I had synvisc shots a year ago. Worked on one knee but the other i ended up getting a total knee replacemt. Im scheduled to get another shot in the other knee soon. Hope this helps.

Hi there - I've been having these injections (Synvisc at first, then Supartz for the last year) every six months for many years now. They do help; however, a couple of years' ago my insurance stopped covering the cost of the injections. I applied for and received a Financial Hardship award last year that would mean my injections were free every six months (one year). I just ordered my LAST free injections to be given at the end of the month. The CVS Specialty Pharmacy will no longer assist in paying for these injections. I don't understand why they would prefer I face total knee replacement rather than offering simple injections twice a year that greatly improve my ability to day-to-day tasks.
