The Osteoarthritis Action Alliance has launched StandUp2OA as the first and only national campaign focused on the prevention and management of osteoarthritis, the most common form of arthritis affecting 30 million Americans.

See how Honorary Co-Chairs, Lennie and Dianne Rosenbluth StandUp2OA in this video: youtu.be/-ELbSzwUAys

Here are just a few ways you can StandUp2OA:

- See your care provider for ideas on reducing the impact of OA or joint pain on your everyday life, including managing your symptoms such as pain, stiffness, and swelling; improving joint mobility and flexibility; maintaining a healthy weight; and getting regular physical activity.

- Stay active! Physical activity may not necessarily prevent or slow the progression OA in all cases, but it can help you maintain strong muscles, stable joints, flexibility, and good balance to reduce falls and joint injury.

- Achieve or maintain a healthy weight to minimize overloading joints and causing tissue damage.

Let us know how you StandUp2OA in the comments. This can be your daily wins, ways you educate yourself and others, how you advocate for your care and more!

Oddly enough, I wasn't diagnosed with OA until *after* I dropped 50 pounds. Turns out that inability to rotate my hips inward wasn't because I was out of shape! ;) As a result, I #StandUp2OA by eating in such a way that I am happy, but maintain my weight, and I exercise on a regular basis (swimming, hiking, body weight, and daily stretching).
