Little things II: Rocking Your World

For everybody who has been there trying to jab a walking stick at a lightswitch this is for you. They are called "Wide Rocker switches".

The bigger target with extra leverage means way less finger pressure is needed making it way more comfortable to use, cushions and cuddly toys hurled at speed will also activate it. Or in my case cup in one hand, plate in the other just a gentle nudge with a shoulder does the trick. Try doing that with your existing switches.

Disclaimer: I do not care what husband/partner/significant other says about this post. Please get a qualified electrician to do the install.

Whilst yes it's an easy job the backside of these replacements can sometimes be bigger than a regular switch and there may be issues getting it to fit flush with the wall. Been warned lol :)

You probably wont find them in a high street DIY store however trade suppliers such as CPC or Screwfix should have no problems. As with anything prices vary between models at £2-4 each.
