Are infrared heat lamps really any good for RA pain?

Right now I am suffering with my left shoulder, finding it hell to drive and change gear as I take my little girl to and from school. Can't see my rheumy nurse for another week, she's on holiday. I have bought an infrared lamp as I have read reviews that it can really make a difference, but at the moment I am unsure.

  • I have found that they help. The heat gets right in there. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

  • Hi there, thanks for your reply. My instructions say that you should be no closer than 80cm to the light. I don't feel a lot of heat from this distance and obviously I'm not going to be right up against it. I just wondered if you sit as close as you can without burning yourself? Thanks again.
