Are infrared heat lamps really any good for RA pain?

Right now I am suffering with my left shoulder, finding it hell to drive and change gear as I take my little girl to and from school. Can't see my rheumy nurse for another week, she's on holiday. I have bought an infrared lamp as I have read reviews that it can really make a difference, but at the moment I am unsure.

I have found that they help. The heat gets right in there. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

Hi there, thanks for your reply. My instructions say that you should be no closer than 80cm to the light. I don't feel a lot of heat from this distance and obviously I'm not going to be right up against it. I just wondered if you sit as close as you can without burning yourself? Thanks again.
