Hi Cindy, did the person who done the detox wrap ask if you were taking any medications or had any illness? I'm sure they would need to now of any you were taking because of side effects.

It may just be the position you were in while the wrap was working and as made your joints ache, don't really now a lot about detox wraps unfortunately. .

Just a thought about it though, detox is to remove the toxins from the body I believe, and if your taking something like MTX which is a toxic drug wouldn't that cause a problem? Just a thought!

Thanks Mand

They did ask if i had any illness or took meds and i did fill out a form detailing RA and meds. I think i will cancell the rest of the course, i didn't think about MTX and toxins now feel abit stupid !!! Just thought i would have a pamper and try to kickstart a diet.

Hi Cindy, that's the problem taking all these medications we have to check everything else we do/take.

Try to find out for sure before you cancel the rest of your course as you never now, it does make sense so you don't want to be wasting your money or even worse upsetting your RA. Let us now how you get on or if you find out anymore information.

Good luck

think a straight sit in warm jacuuzi or sauna/ steam would help more thats what i do.. have never had a wrap.. cant comment directly.. trade the wrap for a pedicure or manicure if a beauty saloon rather than lose money.. if not have heard or a thermal clay wrap the key word being thermal..find i prefer warmth too cold,, this is outside my remit.. though i do like being pampered alison x

Hi Cindy

I'm thinking the same as Ali and Mandy the detox will start pulling the toxins out of you and as we all take so much meds they will have an effect, mayhap its drawn the MTX leaving you with nothing in your body to counteract the RA.

stick to facials and head massage

I'm sure I've read something about this ... but where?! I agree with the others, most RA drugs are toxic so it is possible that the benefits have been depleted by the wrap leaving you vulnerable to a flare.

Keep a close eye on any further symptoms that develop and if it seems a flare is imminent give rheumatology a call for some advice.

Take care Cindy, hope things settle and you feel better very soon,

I would be really sceptical about any detox claims from such a treatment, watch out for words like 'may' or 'could' etc. One thing they really should have told you is that any treatment like this or massage with any sorts of essential oils can make you feel very dehydrated and unwell for several days before you feel any benefit if you feel it at all. You shouldn't do anything physical or needs concentration like drive a car straight afterwards and need to double your fluid intake for a couple of days. Hope you've recovered!

I've just read summers comment about thermal clay I have had a eex rasul thermal mud treatments and have to say they are amazing money defo well spent I would really recommend after the ones I've had I can honestly say It's the best I've felt in years x
