Does anyone else have dark brown toe nails?
Chiropodist says it is not fungal and must be the medication.

Yes, both big toes
Mine are going brown and my chiropodist also says it's not fungal. I thought it was just with age. Certainly not a pretty sight. Am seeing a GP tomorrow as my right ankle is swelling up quite badly and leg and foot are painful. Have neuropathy in the leg. With everything that's going on assumed it was all linked. Take care and have a good day.
Hi Pi-La-TES
I’ve got brown patches on both big toes and a couple of other ones. Haven’t taken Methotrexate for about 3 years but the stains still haven’t gone.
Yes, just on a couple of toes. I put it down to age and fungus, but it could equally be age and mtx.
From my experience it can also be related to Psoriatic Arthritis. I have had a second diagnosis of possible psoriatic all of my 37 years of RA and I have dark patches appearing. The treatment is often with the same meds so no conflict there.
I had brown stripes on both big toenails for years. I was on mtx. Didn't notice until your post that they have disappeared completely - I stopped taking mtx just over 6 months ago -seems highly probable there's a link.
yes and podiatrist says it’s not fungal. It’s the toe of the foot with worst RA in joint that also had bursitis and gout so I guess that’s the cause.
I've had brown nails and told its linked to PSA. The only reason mine disappeared is because I had ingrown toenail on both and they were removed.
