I'm not on MTX, but take leflunomide , toficitinib and oral prednisolone. I had both seasonal flu and my covid booster together yesterday.

My understanding is that there is no contraindications to taking DMARDs and having both vaccines together, but if you are concerned you should contact your rheumatology dept.

But, some people are not taking MTX for a week before and a week after vaccination.

The information is not clear, and varies from dept to dept.

I am on 17.5mg mxt and I am leaving 5 days between covid and flu. The medics say it is safe to have them at the same time but I don't like the idea. I also think that if I have a reaction I want to know which vaccine has caused it, impossible if you have them together.

I wouldn't, I'd space them out. From what I know they both rely on your immune system to work efficiently. I haven't taken any of my meds round having any of my covid vaccinations either (mtx and enbrel) in order to get the best response from the vaccines which was against advice at the time, I just thought I'm not going to suppress my immune system when the vaccine relied on it work. The advice now is to miss mtx if possible for two weeks after covid vaccinations, I was right all along.

My vaccines are due next Wednesday, Cimzia on the Thursday, methotrexate on Sunday. Emailed my rheumatology team and was advised to put Cimzia back a week but take methotrexate as usual on the Sunday.

I would try contact your rheumatology team for individual advice. I wouldn't want to take methotrexate very close to the vaccines.

Our rheumatology department are saying that there is no problem having both together, and that we should stop mtx for 2 weeks after. Our area is not doing both together, but I managed to have my Covid booster 2 days after the flu jab. I decided that if i have to stop mtx for 2 weeks after each jab, then it was better to have them close together so I only interrupt my meds once

Up to you as theres no problem as to why not. Personally as both of mine was due on my Benipali injection day I decided to stagger the covid and flu to separate days.

I had both done last Monday, and take Mtx 25mg. Had a temperature Monday night, but other than that I was fine. Still used it as an excuse for a couple of days in bed reading though 🙃. Which I obviously needed.

I know some on here advocate for missing doses, but a flare isn’t what I want or need.. especially now the weather is turning…. this is my worst time of year.

I'm on 17.5mg MTX & had my flu jab on the Thursday & my 6th Covid jab on the Saturday. Not by design though, it just fell that way. What I did do differently this time was halt my MTX for 2 weeks post Covid jab but that's another story!
