After my 1st jab I felt a bit 'off colour' for a few days. I have heard that the 2nd dose might result in stronger side effects and wonder if anyone has had theirs and how it went?
2nd Pfizer jab - side effects? Better or worse? - NRAS
2nd Pfizer jab - side effects? Better or worse?
I think that you'll find that it's different for everyone. Having said that, I've just been sent the link to arrange for my second one and am waiting for some appointments to come up after Thursday as I'm teaching a few university students f2f this week and as it's very important for them (individual lessons for Performance modules) I don't want to have to cancel.
I'm really hoping to get an appointment on Thursday evening/Friday as that will give me a few days to recover - IF I need them!
OH had his second Pfizer yesterday....and absolutely nothing. First one he had small red blotch and a bit sore, but can’t even see needle mark this time.
I felt proper poorly after the first, but nothing at all after the second except a sore arm. Hope that helps to raise your hopes, but everyone is different. And it does depend a bit on what else is happening. I was very stressed before the first, in a strange place in snow early in the morning (I don't do early mornings, takes me until 11am to get going) long wait outside in the cold before getting in there, etc. So that might have increased the fatigue and feeling ill afterwards.
Had both, just sore arm for me and maybe slightly more tired 🥰
I had my second today - I’ve had a bit of a headache and just feel really fatigued.
Had both and just very tired for a few days
Had my second on Saturday. Arm a little more stiff for 24 hours but otherwise feel my normal RD self.
Hi. I had mine last week, apart from a sore arm, no other problems. 👍😊
Both myself and OH have had 2nd Pfizer. We both found 2nd dose better than first, and even that only gave me a sore arm.
I’m hopeful 😀
Slightly more sore arm but did feel as though I had a cold for 4-5 days which might have been a coincidence
My experience with the Pfizer vaccine - both jabs were sometime ago - was that the first one had hardly any effect; just a bit off colour the following morning. The second, three weeks later, caused more fatigue and lasted about 5 days.
But, as Boxerlady says, the effects will vary from person to person. It may be that age has something to do with it, although I think that unlikely. Probably more to do with your activity. The younger you are the more you will need to feel on top of things just to carry on. I'm ancient and can rest all day if necessary.
Not a lot of help - but Good Luck.

All was fine with me, I had mine last Friday, did have a walk after, which they say can help. Hope all goes well for you
My husband had his 2nd jab all’s well with 1st & 2nd no problems at all.
had 2nd Pfizer and no reactions what so ever, 1st jab I was really poorly for 4 days xx
I’m in the US and got the Moderna shot. First one: sore at the injection site on day 2. Second shot 4 weeks later (standard for Moderna): sore injection site on day 2, plus flu-ish feelings like chills, headache, and nausea. A friend, who also got Moderna had the same experience.
Several friends got Pfizer and, for them, day 2 of the second dose had them feeling flu-ish, some mild and others not good at all. But with all of us, in my wee sample, symptoms were gone by day 3.
We all welcomed any reactions as signs our bodies were “cooking” antibodies!
I had my second Pfizer jab last Friday. As with the first jab I’ve had a nasty headache which has only really lifted today. However, this time around the lymph nodes on my collar bone have swollen into some scary lumps!
I don't need the Jab so am talking from my mother's experience, she's 92. After the first jab she wasn't herself for about 5 days. Tired and just not as sharp as normal. She's on blood thinners, ( it might be that after the problems the oxford injection has had they have added more blood thiners to the vaccine. please note i have not been able to find any infirmant to back this up.)
after her second jab she had trouble with blood on her pillow in the morning. A receptionist at a doctor's told her it nothing to do with the vaccine and that she could only speak to the doctor if it was a matter of live and death. Sign of the times, but also a particularly bad receptionist.
She's been fine since and far less effected than after her first vaccination .
So don't worry the peace of mind it brings far outweighs the risk. Just keep an eye on your self and speak to a professional if you are worried about anything. The NHS helpline is wonderful.
Hi Brushwork, I had a sore arm and terrible headache after my first jab but after the second - two weeks ago - I have felt fine, not even a sore arm. Wishing you well Carol 🙂
For me and my husband it was exactly the same after each jab - arm just a bit stiff when lifted.
Had the 2nd jab now. Slightly sore arm but otherwise fine. Good news I think
