Hey, its annoying, but really some of these side effects just pass, like the hair loss but talk to your team about the other things too xx

Do you use an ice pack to numb the area before you inject, and leave the syringe out of the fridge for a good few hours beforehand not just 30mins? These help. I bleed every now and then, but not always - do you inject in thigh or stomach? Maybe swap to see if it’s any easier then.

Hiya.. I've been on benapali for 6months now and feel so much better , RA is under control now, hope it continues as I am under no illusion it could be a one off!! The injection is not great tho, I do dread that time, as u say, sting is so unpleasant...but so glad when it's over which isn't long at all!! I have heard this is available in needle form rather than the spring loaded rocket missile!! I will be asking about this on my visit soon...have a happy day today.

I lost half my hair with Benepali and then got an allergic reaction, so had to stop taking it. The injections were not too bad for me.

I lost quite a bit of hair today which upset me so I may be having to talk to my RA nurse but they always say same no ones reported that to us .

I found the pen stung but the syringe didn't hurt at all. very easy and controllable. Honestly its painless. I thing that also helped me was don't leave for more than the 30 minutes the manufacture recommends the longer out the more it hurt. So Pinch an inch and push needle down then release the liquid its so easy.

The benepali does sting a bit but it’s short lived, if you can’t bear it have you tried rubbing an ice cube on the area before injecting, do you leave it out of the fridge for a few hours beforehand, tried your tummy if you are using your thigh? I occasionally get bleeding and bruising but check the area I’m injecting is clear beforehand and that helps. The other possible side effects I don’t get so I would talk to your rheumy nurse to see if they are side effects as they could be something unrelated. Let us know how you go 😊

I found taking benepali out of the fridge several hours before using it helped reduce the stinging. It really has to be at room temperature, 30 mins is not long enough normally.

I found using my upper thigh was easier than my stomach.
