Epstein Barr virus

Does anyone know of any connection between R A and the Epstein Barr virus? Apparently there is some research in Germany but I have been unable to find it.

I've looked at various medical articles in the past and there is an established link between RA and Epstein Barr virus. It being Good Friday, I don't have time to search for them again.

I remember seeing the GP in June 2014, feeling unwell, because of an ongoing viral infection and the poor breathing. I was quite unwell that day - had a trip to Canterbury but all i could do was sit down for afternoon tea.

The next day I went to the gym but was totally unable to do it or to breathe, so I stopped and went home. The next morning I had the most awful Herpes cold sore on my lip and an obvious infection.

Three weeks after that I had the onset overnight of RA. I have often wondered if they were connected but did not have any tests done at the time.

Yes I can't give you specifics I am.very out of it and in.pain - had first IVIG tx yesterday and I'm knocked out. I have RA now because of undiagnosed.Lyme. Was misdiagnosed for 3 yrs and also had EBV which also links to Lyme. These are all systemic immune e affecting conditions. I'm sure I make no sense I can barely think but wanted to respond before I pass out. The IVIG I've been denied for 5 years and never thought I'd be approved. My amazing lyme specialist has gone above and beyond and finally got me approved for a year of weekly infusions - it's gonna be a long road but basically my only hope to get any better. If you research you'll find these diseases are intertwined. Try searching the ILADS Database and infectious disease sites. When I'm better I can look for you. But I have them all.
