It's been all go at the Put patients first: Back general practice campaign. Since successfully using our manifesto in England to prompt the Conservative party to pledge 5000 more GPs, we're now working to make that happen. We're publishing action plans for general practice in each of the four devolved nations of the UK and we've also been in the headlines talking about proposed cuts to trainee doctors' pay, and overworked GPs leading to risks to patient care.

Help us promote general practice

Part of the campaign includes showing how important general practice is by showcasing what GPs do for their patients. We want to make a video to show a “patients’ eye view” of general practice – and that’s where you come in. If you have an interesting story about how your GP has helped you or a relative to overcome difficulties in order to live the life you choose, please consider sharing them with us. You won’t be asked to appear on film, in fact we’ll be using actors to portray all of the case studies.

We are looking for people from the following groups:

- Professionals aged 20-40

- Parents and a young child

- Older couples whose GP enables them to maintain their independence

- Teenager/young people with their parents

- People with experience of end of life care

- If you have an interesting story to tell but it doesn’t fit into these categories – don’t let that stop you, we still want to hear from you!
